It’s the most wonderful time of
the year!
We
are ready for the holidays! The tree is
up, the menorah is out, and we have lights everywhere. Wise Wonder is truly merry and bright these
days. The only way to make our little nook
cozier is to deck the halls, and we couldn’t be happier that it’s finally that
time of year again.
As
the holidays get closer, the days get a bit more hectic: there are gifts to buy,
stockings to stuff, and the New York City streets are more crowded than ever! We want you to get a chance to enjoy the
holidays, as well as experience them – so we’ve compiled a handy gift guide for
the book loving kids (and adults!) in your lives. Take a look!
Penguin Problems by Jory John and Lane Smith
- This
book explores a day in the life of a penguin – and it’s not exactly what you’d expect. With a hilarious story and wonderful
illustrations to boot, this is an instant addition to our list of favorites –
not to mention a great read for the cold, winter weather!
- The
world rejoiced when news broke that Jon Klassen was writing another follow up
to This Is Not My Hat and, boy, does
it deliver! It is the perfect addition
to his duo of hat books, and offers that telltale twist that will satisfy fans
old and new.
The Night Gardener by Terry & Eric Fan
- The
moment we saw The Night Gardener in
the store, we knew it was going to be a bestseller. It is a gorgeous book, with lush
illustrations and a sweet story. This is
a book that beckons us to appreciate the many gifts nature gives, and to make
sure to stop and smell the roses every now and then. A must read.
- We’ve
been big fans of Julie Morstad for a while now, and were very excited to hear
about Today. Today
urges readers to believe that each day has the potential to be the best day if you give it a chance. Talk about a wonderful message for kids and
adults alike!
- We can’t
stop raving about Uncle Goose products!
These blocks are amazing for kids of any age. They have blocks in an assortment of languages,
fairy tale blocks to build your own story, animal & insect blocks to
bolster early identification, periodic table blocks for the science lover,
chord blocks for the music lover, and more!
And not only are they useful, they’re beautifully designed to add
something special to any playroom.
- Out Of
Print Clothing is kitschy, cute, and original. We love their designs – from the
shirts (so soft!) to the totes to the mugs, they have something for every book
lover in your life. Even the babies! May we recommend the Goodnight Moon and Madeline
onesies? Adorable!
- This recommendation
is for the mega reader – the person who loves books so much they’d want to wear them. These items feature the entire text of a book. That’s right – you’ll literally be wearing
the words of all of your favorite adventures.
They have clothes, totes, and posters for kids and adults – so feel free to pick up something for yourself while
you’re at it, too.
We
love these books and bookish items, and hope they add something special to your
holiday season.
Happy
Holidays, from all of us at Wise Wonder. 🙂
