You have questions, we have answers
Between our four locations, we field a lot of questions from interested parents and caregivers about our programs. Below you will find answers to some of the most common queries we receive. If you have a question you don't see, please email hello@booknooknyc.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we can!
What are the age groups for classes?
We offer a range of reading classes for kids based on age groups from 6-months to 8-years-old.
How many students are in each class?
Our student to teacher ratio is 6:1. The maximum number of students in our tiered learning level classes is six students. Big Hoot classes can be one-on-one or small groups of up to three children.
How often do classes meet?
Our learning level classes meet once a week and our Little Prep classes meet twice a week, coinciding with the school year. Our Summer Enrichment classes meet two or three times a week depending on the age group.
What if my child does not settle into their Wise Wonder classes?
We believe wholeheartedly that students of all learning backgrounds will enjoy and benefit from the consistency of the Wise Wonder experience. Due to our small group nature, our classes and programs are nonrefundable. Should you move out of town, you will be required to present proof of a new address and your remaining balance will be refunded.
Is Wise Wonder available to rent?
Our W69th, Tribeca, and Park Slope locations are available for kids’ birthday parties. Fill out a request form and our coordinator will get in touch with you to go over all the birthday party and rental details.
Does Rina teach classes?
Our founder Rina Collins created the curriculum at Wise Wonder and trains all of our teachers, covering every aspect of our unique program. Although Rina does not teach classes, she is very hands-on with everything at Wise Wonder and splits her time between our locations.
Is there stroller parking available?
At our Tribeca location, we have stroller parking. Take the elevator down to level L2 and you can park strollers outside of the covered Wise Wonder entrance.
At our Upper West Side location, we have limited stroller parking. Wise Wonder is located on the garden level and we’ll help you bring your stroller down the five steps. You can park strollers outside of the covered Wise Wonder entrance.
Is Wise Wonder open on the weekends?
Our UWS location is not open on the weekends. Our Tribeca location is open on the weekend for special events and you can check our home page for announcements.
Is Wise Wonder hiring new staff?
We’re always interested in hearing from early childhood educators who are interested in joining our family. Please send us an email at hello@booknooknyc.com with your teaching qualifications.
Are classes canceled due to inclement weather?
On occasion, Wise Wonder cancels classes for safety reasons due to bad weather. On these instances, we will send an email out before the first class, contact parents throughout the day and post on our social media. Cancelled classes will be rescheduled at the end of the school year.
